Key Achievements
From March 2017 to September 2018, I performed comprehensive e-commerce SEO updates and technical SEO for Touch Germ Block’s online retail website, touchgermblock.com. The primary goal of this project was to improve the company’s online visibility, boost product search rankings, and enhance the overall user experience. This required a strategic approach to optimizing both the on-page content and the site’s technical performance.
My key accomplishments for this project include:
- WooCommerce Product Optimization – I optimized all product pages by implementing a robust WooCommerce product design strategy. This included writing compelling, keyword-rich product descriptions, optimizing image alt tags, and restructuring page layouts for improved search engine crawlability and user engagement.
- Website Speed Optimization – I implemented various technical SEO strategies to speed up the website. This involved optimizing image file sizes, leveraging browser caching, and minimizing code to improve page load times. The success of this work can be measured by comparing the website’s current performance metrics against its original summer 2017 baseline data, which would show a significant improvement in speed and a lower bounce rate.
- On-Page SEO Updates – I performed thorough on-page SEO by optimizing meta titles and descriptions for all key pages and products, ensuring all content was properly structured for both search engines and human readability.
This project was a meticulous, eighteen-month effort that began in March 2017 with a full audit of the existing website’s performance and SEO health. I then developed and executed a strategic plan for e-commerce SEO and website speed optimization. The majority of the project involved implementing these changes and continuously monitoring the website’s performance to make further adjustments as needed. The final stages, which concluded in September 2018, focused on a final review and a handover of all optimized assets and processes to the client. The successful completion of this project is a testament to my skills in e-commerce SEO and website speed optimization.
