GorillaFarmCo.com – WordPress Responsive Design & Optimization

From March 2019 to February 2020, I undertook the role of designer, builder, and manager for GorillaFarmCo.com, the partner company responsible for growing the organic hemp used in Green Gorilla’s USDA-organic CBD products. The project’s core purpose was to create a professional, informative online presence that showcased the farm’s sustainable practices and the high-quality source of the organic hemp. My role was to develop a brand-new website from the ground up, with a focus on creating a stunning, user-friendly experience that was also highly optimized for search engines. This project highlights my expertise in WordPress responsive design and WordPress optimization.

The project had four key objectives that were central to its success:

• WordPress Responsive Design – Design and build a professional, mobile-friendly WordPress-based website that functions flawlessly across all devices and screen resolutions. This was crucial for an optimal user experience.
• WordPress Optimization – Implement a comprehensive strategy to optimize the WordPress site’s performance, focusing on site speed, security, and a user-friendly interface to enhance the website’s functionality.
• Content Development & Management – Create and manage all website content, including text, images, and videos, that effectively communicates the farm’s commitment to organic and sustainable farming practices.
• Search Engine Optimization – Implement a foundational SEO strategy to improve the website and the company’s online visibility and organic traffic, leveraging the connection to Green Gorilla’s brand.

Building the website was a three-month process, followed by my management of the Gorilla FarmCo website during my employment with Green Goilla, which lasted from March 2019 to February 2020. The initial phase was dedicated to discovery and planning, where I collaborated with the client to define the website’s goals and content structure. I then transitioned into the development phase, focusing on a clean, custom WordPress responsive design that would be both aesthetically pleasing and technically sound. A major part of this work involved implementing various WordPress optimization techniques, such as image compression, caching, and database cleaning, to ensure fast load times and a smooth user experience. The final months of the project were spent on content population, quality assurance testing, and the integration of analytics to monitor traffic and user behavior. This careful process allowed me to deliver a high-quality, professional website on time and within the project’s scope. The successful launch of GorillaFarmCo.com demonstrated my ability to not only design and build a website but also to manage it effectively for long-term success.
