Key Achievements

In late 2023, two of my long-time friends from high school found an e-commerce-based Shopify website, selling various types of coffee, both whole bean and ground, listed “for sale” at a very competitive price. In December 2023, the three of us decided to purchase the recently built Shopify website and company as a partnership, which we continued to market and build a customer base until October 202,4 when we sold the business for a profit. I managed all e-commerce operations for the growing coffee brand called Good Cuppa Coffee. This extensive project involved comprehensive Shopify website management, e-commerce product optimization, and the implementation of strategic SEO to drive traffic and increase conversions.

A key component of my role was to not only manage the technical aspects of the online store but also to lead the creative direction for the brand’s physical products by designing all new coffee packaging. The overarching objective was to transform the website from a basic online storefront into a highly optimized, brand-centric e-commerce platform that would stand out in the competitive coffee market. This project was a testament to the power of integrating website management with strategic marketing to achieve significant business growth.

The timeline for this project was a phased approach that spanned nearly a year. The first phase, from December 2023 to October 2024, was dedicated to auditing the existing website and products. This involved a deep dive into the Shopify platform to identify areas for improvement in performance, user experience, and SEO. I also began the initial conceptualization for the new coffee packaging designs. From March to June 2024, the focus shifted to implementation. I began the process of e-commerce product optimization, rewriting product descriptions with strategic keywords, and optimizing product images for speed and search engines. I also worked on the design and production of the new coffee packaging, which was a major deliverable. The final phase, from July to October 2024, was centered on refining the SEO strategy and analyzing results. I monitored website traffic and keyword rankings, making continuous adjustments to the SEO strategy to maximize performance. This final stage also included implementing new features on the Shopify store to improve customer engagement and loyalty. The deliverables for this project were multifaceted and provided the client with a complete e-commerce solution. I delivered a fully optimized Shopify website with enhanced user experience and improved load times. The e-commerce product optimization efforts resulted in a complete set of product listings with optimized titles, descriptions, and images. I also provided a full suite of final, print-ready designs for all coffee packaging.
